A major influence on my short film is the "Love, Kills xx" short film series directed by pop singer, actress, fashion icon and director Natalia Kills & Guillaume Dobet. These short films inspired me to create a piece focusing on women in trouble. Below is a clip of one of the episodes:
Another influence on me was the interlude films featured during Lady Gaga's Fame Ball and Monster Ball tours, directed by the Haus of Gaga. These films inspired me to take the subjects of my piece, and demonstrate them in a very Avant-Garde, off-the-wall method. I made use of screens in order to give a blank background so that the focus of the shot is the character. Below are examples of some of the interludes:
As well as representing mental disorders in an Avant-Garde way, I also wanted to show one mental disorder in a natural way, in a way that we could feel sorry for the character. In order to create this, I decided to take inspiration from Lana Del Rey's Ride video, directed by Anthony Mandler which was shown as a short film. I originally wanted to use a monologue similar to that of the video, but I later decided that this would not work so instead I used music to convey the emotions. Below is the video:
